The administrator's noticeboard for incidents, [[WP:ANI]], is under a vandalbot attack. (We're moderately confident it's Wik again. What a lovely fellow.) Admins might want to note stuff here and/or #wikipedia while the attack is in progress.
CheckUser is really slooooow at the best of times and this isn't the best of times; is there a dev with DB access about who can see if there's a pattern to the vandalbot and come up with a reliable automatic solution?

Easy fix that would be nice here would be if "block" appeared as an option next to all names on the new user page. That way we could zap the obviously randomly generated usernames quickly instead of slowly.

Someone made a monobook script with additions to the new user log including an additional block button, I think it was Func, but I'm not sure. You can copy the code from my monobook.js if you want.

Even better, Mirv just changed the text that gets added to the log (at [[MediaWiki:Newuserlog]], if it needs to be changed again) to include a block link.

I forgot to mention something in the previous email, the problem with this is that the block link will show up for non-admins as well as admins.

Sure, but it'll only work for admins
