A sysop really does not have much room to decide "that a page is worthless and that they don't want it there". Rather, he is more or less a servant of non-sysop users who want certain actions which are a bit harder to revert than simple editing to be taken. Sysops are *not* editors.
Understanding this is really essential to being a sysop. Do you see how a quiz can be useful now?
Erik, please don't continue singling out LittleDan for special schooling--there's no reason to condescend to him because he's young, unless you're hoping to embarass people watching. If that's your goal, I'll tell you that you've succeeded in at least one case. At any rate I think most of us would agree that LittleDan has proven both humble & patient, so perhaps you could continue quizzing him in private, if you must continue quizzing him.
best,
kq

I have already cited the reasons, I don't care how old he is. As for moving this to private mail: 1)Understanding the deletion process is essential, especially as undeleting pages is currently a PITA. Therefore, the more often the process is publicly summarized, the better. 2)The whole process of sysop nomination and sysop status transfer is a public process, not a private one.
I will therefore continue to publicly "quiz" nominated sysops whom I suspect may not be familiar with our process about its finer details.

Erik

We can all use a refresher on what the sysop is all about. No harm done.

LittleDan to me sounds surprisingly articulate for a thirteen year old. I can fully understand the resistance to judging anyone by their age.. especially that age... when they can become involved really young in something of substance, rather than watching the news, or playing GTA3. On the other hand, I still agree with Eric's rightful caution, in handing out the car keys. -SV
And I'll put you in my email filter so I don't have to read it. Zoe Erik Moeller erik_moeller@gmx.de wrote:> Erik, please don't continue singling out LittleDan for
