I understood sysops had the ability to protect pages in case of an edit war. Apparently, it is not enough to ask for the protection in the comment box. So I suppose it has to be asked specifically somewhere.
Could I know *where* it is for the next time I am told I am a vandal, a liar, a fool out of his mind and unable to read english ?
And treated as if I were a man !!!

Try dropping a note on the Edit Wars in Progress page... that's a good place to get noticed. Also, writing to the mailing list would probably accomplish much the same thing.
