There are a number of wikimedia projects. If other groups want to carry out projects who are we to stop them?

Spinoffs are not splitting. Assumeing no lisence problems we aquire all the good stuff anyway.

I have made one.
Wikipedia is meant to be trying to produce an encyopedia. Not a general collection of data. By encourageing those who want a general collection of data to make one off project we can then select the stuff that is relivant to wikipedia and humanity gains another knowlage base.
