Hi Zoe,
I'm not normally in favour of banning people, but from what I see of 172's contibutions, they are strikingly POV, and constantly reverting pages without explaining why is completely unacceptable. I think the time has come to ban 172.

He/she is making wholesale reversions to any changes made by anyone in [[New Imperialism]], without comment.

Gee, I think Vera Cruz is worse. 172 has climbed down a bit from his high horse, but Vera is still going whole hog. Both of them have made many substantive contributions to the Wikipedia, but Vera's war with 172 in [[New Imperialism]] is my idea of hell.
Ed Poor would know what to do. I don't, but banning doesn't really seem to be the right weapon here. I have been entirely caught by the tarbaby of [[New Imperialism]] when all I wanted to know was what made it "new".

It's been suggested that Vera Cruz may be Lir. Has anyone compared IP addresses? Vera Cruz's current IP address is not that used by Lir back in the day, but that's meaningless as he would likely be connecting from home instead of university during the holidays. Much more revealing is the e-mail address specified in the account, a hotmail account which a google search reveals to belong to one Adam [name omitted for privacy reasons], aka Lir.
