If I think anything needs deleting, I just delete it. Right away.
So far, I've gotten away with that. Larry (anyone remember Larry?) said to "be bold", and I've been bold ever since (tempered by occasional meekness).
Grad student resumes go right in the garbage; I'm not waiting a week for the 11-point vFd process. Same as graffiti.
This is a WIKI, fer crying out loud!!!

But it is, in the words of one wiki (not ours!) "a very unwiki wiki".
One example of this is the fact that most users cannot undo deletions (nor undeletions, for that matter). Ultimately, /this/ is the reason that we have to worry so much over deletion policy. Otherwise, deletion policy would be like all other edit policy, and admins would only get involved in deletion/undeletion wars (which just be like any other edit war).
There are reasons for this particular unwiki feature, of course. But there it is, all the same.

I wish I could do that. Whenever I delete ANYTHING without going through VfD, I'm attacked as a terrible person. You must have some sort of special dispensation.

How about if we deal with Rick's "special dispensation" on the list -- make more constructive comment, please --or, well -- I should expect there to be consequences.
Is anyone else bothered by Rick's "special dispensation?" (on the list I mean)

I don't understand what you're saying. What special dispensation do I have?
