So long as paid contributors stick to notable, verifiable information, cite their sources, and maintain an NPOV while using the encyclopedic voice, though, I don't understand what the problem is.
On Utopipedia, no one who did those things, as best they understood, would ever get into any conflict editing. On the actual Wikipedia, you can't just airbrush conflict out of the picture. How do people behave when their interests are at stake, in an edit war? Better or worse than usual? I believe the answer is known.
