Indeed, you are always respectful, and you have made a massive contribution to the 'pedia. Everyone knows that, and we all respect it. I for one am grateful for it. But your stubborness on this matter, though undoubtedly well intentioned, is not adding to that respect.
Bluntly, we, the people who actually WRITE the fauna entries, are sick and tired of being buggerised about, for no good reason, by people who do NOT contribute to them. Over the last month or so there has been a massive improvement to the bird sections in particular. There is a huge amount more still to do, but the concentrated efforts of three or four regular contributors is really starting to show results. Please, if you don't want to help with this project, at least stop interfering with it.

People need a little remindering about [[m:Wikipediahimsa]].
Namely--it is an act of himsa to hurt others through word or act if you can avoid it; and it is also an act of himsa to feel hurt by others if you can avoid it.
Or in simpler language, we shouldn't piss off each other, and we shouldn't let ourselves be upset unnecessarily.
So Mav shouldn't ask petulant questions like "Have I been wasting my time for the last year and a half?" and Tannin shouldn't write rude comments like "Please, if you don't want to help with this project, at least stop interfering with it."
Even if both are writing from the heart, it's still not right.
Rather, both should admit that they don't know everything, that each other is attempting to only act to improve Wikipedia, and that conflict is an inevitable consequence of our mutual imperfection.
Yes?
(Not that I'm saying anyone needs to eat American Crow).
