By doing this, has Adam/Lir's name been editted from the mail archive,
or
was she/he merely unsubscribed?
Oh, just unsubscribed. I didn't take him to mean that. Perhaps I was
mistaken.
And yes, I know this horse is dead; I'll stop
beating it.
Lir's behavior is often difficult for me to understand. For most
users, I would think that sending a big "f**k you all" email to the
list would be sufficient grounds for people to start talking about
banning, but of course with Lir, there's been no general protest
because we're all more or less tired of the whole scene to the point
that we're really past caring.
If Lir wants to go away, that's fine with me.
If Lir wants his real name purged from the mailing list archives (and
I can understand why he might, given the whole history, and presumably
he's going to be applying to grad. school or jobs soon enough, so he
might not want all that stuff out there on the net about him under his
real name) then I will do it for him personally as a friendly gesture.
I see no harm in it, and especially if it helps him to find peace, I'm
all for it.
If Lir wants "Lir" purged from the mailing list, it would take some
convincing for me to want to do that. It's actually a fair amount of
work to go through and do it.
