By doing this, has Adam/Lir's name been editted from the mail archive, or was she/he merely unsubscribed? (My guess from the allusion to Helga is that Lir wanted all trace of her/his connection to Wikipedia also removed. However, a quick check at Google shows the name "Lirath Q. Pynnor" only appears on Wikipedia & those sites which use Wikipedia content; if Adam does not use this username elsewhere, then there is no need to connect her/him to what happened on Wikipedia.)
And considering that Lir has clearly stated that she/he has left Wikipedia, I find it odd that someone with that username is still making contributions. Could it be that someone is impersonating Lir?
And yes, I know this horse is dead; I'll stop beating it.

Oh, just unsubscribed. I didn't take him to mean that. Perhaps I was mistaken.

Lir's behavior is often difficult for me to understand. For most users, I would think that sending a big "f**k you all" email to the list would be sufficient grounds for people to start talking about banning, but of course with Lir, there's been no general protest because we're all more or less tired of the whole scene to the point that we're really past caring.
If Lir wants to go away, that's fine with me.
If Lir wants his real name purged from the mailing list archives (and I can understand why he might, given the whole history, and presumably he's going to be applying to grad. school or jobs soon enough, so he might not want all that stuff out there on the net about him under his real name) then I will do it for him personally as a friendly gesture. I see no harm in it, and especially if it helps him to find peace, I'm all for it.
If Lir wants "Lir" purged from the mailing list, it would take some convincing for me to want to do that. It's actually a fair amount of work to go through and do it.
