In what way is the article name different from the redirect? All I can see is that one has a "smart quote"-style apostrophe.

I am responsible for that strange redirect. Yesterday I realised, that the link pointing from the 1802 article did not find its target, although it appeared to be the same spelling. So I just copied and pasted the spelling of the existing article to the new redirect page, although I didn't see the difference between the spellings.
Many people use the accent sign, when an apostrophe should be used. Perhaps this was the reason for the failing redirect.
