Plato's Republic was not essentially dissimilar to Soviet Communism; the main difference is that the Soviets at least payed lip service to democracy and the value of the working class.
And the Soviets didn't insist that the Soviet Union's population be (somehow!) be maintained in such a way as to always constitute exactly 5040 citizens.
