Slightly confused article headed "The wiki-snobs are taking over" by Giles Hattersley. Misnames 'administrators' as 'arbitrators'. Towards the end the author claims "My entry features at least two errors, one libellous (unless my mother has been keeping a dark secret, I am not Roy Hattersley's son)" which has me befuddled since there is no entry on Giles Hattersley nor was there ever one (unless it's been oversighted).
Well maybe it said so here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roy_Hattersley

Well no, he says "my entry", and a quick look at "Roy Hattersley" (which has fewer than 500 edits), shows nothing in the edit summaries for "son", "Giles", "mistake" or "error". While this may not cover all, the impression I get is that this is little more than wishful thinking on his part.
Oh, I see.

Not that I am following whatever this diverged into, while you do hav the power to cancel an article, it is troublesome to solicit actions from others who hav quoted you. _______ When adding up committees, there is a rule of thumb, that talents make a diff'rence and follies make a sum. -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piet_Hein_(Denmark) (1905-1996) -- same year that Isaac Asimov died.

From multiple advanced search queries I've done, it also doesn't look
like google has cached the wikipedia saying anything like that either, so if it's oversighted it's either more recent than that, or before google swung past, or google has been 'oversighted' as well(?!).

You have to love an article which explains how we are prone to silly inaccuracies which itself, er, demonstrates a lack of editorial fact-checking...

Oh, but I love even more the way my comment below the article pointing this out has apparently been "moderated". Still, I wonder what he was thinking of - did he phone the office and ask someone, who did a remarkably bad job? Does he know how to purchase an Internet? This list of interviews suggests he might be more at home with Abba revivals and Kelly Brook:

Well, he got wrong whether or not he had an article, the Encyclopedia Britannica-Wikipedia study conclusions, how Wikipedia governance works ("as a reward... they now have a say") and the number of people employed by the Foundation, so I won't be shocked if "the announcement" about something that's in fact been discussed for years isn't forthcoming tomorrow.
