I hadn't had time to read ANI for the last 3 days, and just went and started catching up.
It's not just me; everyone's pissed off and behaving badly right now.
We should put en.wikipedia on a one-week cooldown edit freeze....

It would be nice if it cooled down here, it's 70 degrees in the middle of winter.

No that is just normal WP:AN/I.

No, it's not.
It's been worse, but it's pretty bad right now.
Longtime experienced contributors / admins are going at it with each other over what are fundamentally pretty trivial incidents.

Meh. WikiDefcon 2, enhanced drama likely. Normal service will be resumed when the kids get back to school and we can go back to deleting their crap.

They have gone back to school.

Wednesday (Oxfordshire), Thursday (Berkshire). Give them time to get tired of talking about their new games consoles, eh?

Maybe we should. The trolls are RfCing as ROUGE ADMIN ABUSE every single block and deletion they don't like, and they seem to be teaming up to do it.

I'm not involved in anything on "ANI", whatever that is, and haven't noticed any particular increase in bad behavior associated with any of the articles I've been editing in that time period. Why should editing be locked down for me? Just lock down ANI if there's a problem there.

Sounds like a plan, to me; when the endless flamewars at AN/I get old, it's nice to remember that they all just *go away* when you stop paying attention to them. Which, more often than not, is a perfectly adequate solution. If people would just let petty things slide, a little more often, the wiki would probably run a lot more smoothly.
But that's just my thought, as somebody who isn't terribly fond of heated arguments.

Ah, didn't recognize that particular acronym offhand. I've posted the occasional notice there but don't actively monitor it.
