But material with poor sourcing isn't being removed. MAterial with extremely good sourcing is being removed.

Perhaps invocation of BLP was inappropriate, if it was invoked. I'm not sure about the whole matter myself, but it seems that the person is not notable in herself.

Which is why we have policies and guidelines to take care of those questions.
It seems like you're unilaterally redefining BLP. I'm not thinking BLP was to act as a bludgeon against information we're uncomfortable with, but rather to protect the project against possible libel action and the subjects of the biographies.
Your interpretation, which doesn't seem to mesh with what's been allegedly reached by consensus, falls into the former from what I'm reading.

Notability, of course, being something that is subject to consensus and thus AfD and DRV are appropriate venues for discussion?

Well, by that token, wouldn't it be more appropriate to simply erase and restart the article, and then AfD it in a week or three once it's resourced? If the objection is just to the current 'attack' article as defined by Tony and David, I mean.

That's a funny chestnut with BLPs, however. "Person is only notable for one thing, not in of themselves". [[John Mark Karr]] for example is only known for confessing to have killed Jon Bonet Ramsey, and his subsequent public oddness. Jeffrey Dahmer is only known famously as a result of his interesting dietary preferences and their fallout. This lady is known internationally for starting a huge media circus with apparently false allegations--like Karr did essentially.
Notable in herself (no pun intended) I can see applying to Paris Hilton, but everyone else's notability all spawns from generally one key point in their history and some point in time.
