Problem is that spelling is kinda political in that area. The goverment would not respond well to people spelling it Malaiesti rather than something cyrillic alphabet.

For Malaiesti, most are Moldovans, but what about the places with mixed population? :-)

Actually, I think the Google test is not good in here, because most hits for "Malaiesti" refer to other places with the same name in Romania and Moldova.

Also, I tried to avoid Requested Moves, because usually, on this kind of issues, the "patriotic votes" (Your Country Needs Your Vote!) make the decision. :-)
