Actually, that is an In Pop Culture that I don't mind. If you want to
write about what impact a subject of an article on pop culture (which
is arguably what the Britney section is about), that's fine to me.
These are the kinds of pop culture triva entries I loathe with every
fiber of my being:

and
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bob_Crane&diff=58948998&o…
You see these kinds of things on so many articles, this was almost a
mild one in comparison to some others since it only had two entries. I
don't want to speak for anyone else, but I believe that those sort of
things what was most annoying to people. The Britney one I personally
have no problem with.

There was some debate here earlier about the
desirability of the "In
Pop Culture" subsections that inhabit a wide variety of Wikipedia
articles, with all their fancruftiness. I just recently happened to
notice that there's such a section... in the article on [[Britney
Spears]]! Now, just what aspect of Ms. Spears (other than whatever
minuscule amount of "private life" she may have) that *isn't* related
to pop culture? That section title seems as redundant as "AOL For
Dummies".
