Hello Wikipedians, I'm the OpenFilm project coordinator.
OpenFilm is a Open project which aims to create a system like Wikipedia but for the movies (an open imDB I could say...).
So, as you know the more difficult part isn't to install and project the DB and the dynamic pages but to create a community!!!
In fact we have thought to you: we would like to link our project to yours (like a sister project)...is it possible???
Thanks, the OpenFilm's Staff

I am the admin of the Wikinerds Community, which manages the Adapedia, NerdyPC and MaatWorks projects, and I am thinking exactly the same :)
Wikinerds.org strives to popularise and promote Science. Adapedia is a Computer Science and Mathematics knowledge base, it's a wiki. NerdyPC is a wiki-based computer hardware review site and Information Technology knowledge base. MaatWorks is a software development project.

Hello Wikipedians, I'm the OpenFilm project coordinator.

Think more abstract: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikidata
This is not just fantasy stuff, these people are already doing it: http://jot.com/ http://weblog.infoworld.com/udell/gems/jot.swf
I have a Jot beta account and their system works quite nicely. You can easily apply forms to a page to define which data it can accept. You can then do systematic searches and reports on this structured data.
A data-enabled wiki allows for applications far beyond just movies. An open database of creative works of all types (books, articles, papers, journals, films, games ..), for example.
My invitation to you is, instead of setting up your own project for one specific purpose, work with us to make Wikidata a reality. Contact me and I'll let you know how you can help.
Regards,
Erik
