Please, PLEASE acknowledge who you're quoting and in what context. I was
talking about {{tl}} and {{welcome}} which used to include
<nowiki>{{</nowiki> and <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki> respectively, and
would
break as soon as they were subst:ed.
There is a way to achieve a literal, unsubstituted ~~~~ in a page such
that when substituted in, it will produce signature and timestamp;
however, I urget you to read [[WP:BEANS]]. That's why I'm not going to
elaborate any further, and neither should anyone else.
