Hi, I'm sorry, I'm new around here so forgive my ignorance if there has already been discussion about this.
I was just looking at [[1998]], and I noticed the box "1998 by topic" box on right. I have a habit of especially paying attention to red links, and noticed the Soviet Union red link - considering the Soviet Union did not exist in 1998, it seems odd to have there. However, I'm not sure what can be done to remove it since that box came from a template.

Replace the template, I guess... duplicate {{years by topic}} (or whatever it is) as {{years by topic post-1991}} and make the relevant changes?

I took a look at the template and edited it so that the Soviet Union only shows up 1991 and earlier using a template expression.

For a newcomer, you must be really good with templates :-)
(I've been here more than a year, and I still don't have that stuff figured out.) ~~~~

I'm sure I still have a lot to learn, but I am a software developer by trade so its sorta "same stuff, different syntax" :)
Thanks a lot for the compliment... *blush* ~~~~

That's the more elegant but harder solution. Well done :-)
In Soviet Russia, template expressions change YOU!

Is that a subtle reference to insanity? I mean... us template coders aren't *that* bad.
