Goodbye.

Could you stamp about and slam the door a little more loudly on your way out? A few of my neighbours didn't quite hear you.

I'd just like to point out to everyone that not everyone on the list (including Jimbo) can spend hours a day, every day, spread out throughout the day, watching the email list. Therefore, demanding that something be done /immediately/ when some heinous action is "proved" is ludicrous. Some people can't find the time to read messages even once a day, so when people don't jump into a conversation immediately, perhaps some grand conspiracy isn't the reason... maybe it's just because we have dinner plans and needed to pick up the dry-cleaning first.
Even worse, accusing the entire Wikipedia community of /anything/ is patently absurd.... as a matter of fact, it's something that bigots usually do... making broad generalizations about entire groups of people. Interesting.

Do you really find those things more important? :-)

I've never been a big fan of banning, and I make no exception with regard to RK.
Nevertheless, I do believe that he was doing his own cause a disservice. In my mind things had reached a point where a claim of anti-semitism from him was being judged more on the fact that he was the one making the claim, and not on any anti-semitism in the object of his criticism. Had similar claims come from others among our known Jewish members, we all would have taken the claims more seriously.

I don't think anyone, even RK, would disagree with that, at least to a degree. I know that I agree. I'm generally sympathetic to his concerns, but his explosiveness makes it difficult to say the least.

That's right. I decided to work for money yesterday, which means that I'm way behind on my 'daily' 4 hours of Wikipedia email reading and writing. So I left 2 days ago with everything being basically joyful, and then KAPOW, all hell broke loose so quickly!
