To be fair they were trying to counter a fairly high degree of POV pushing.
So was CAMERA, or at least that's what they said. (You can argue that they were doing POV pushing under the guise of removing POV pushing, but the whole CAMERA witchhunt required hardly any on-Wikipedia actions from them at all; merely announcing they intended to counter POV pushing was enough to condemn them.)
