Not to mention that a project such as this attracts many talented people, many who are willing to offer their talents to the site. It seems silly to me that you'd pay different people with the same talents (but no experience with the site) to decide on what looks best, when the entire community is willing to do it for us. No one was hired to write php_wiki, and Alex756 has offered pro bono legal advice to the site. Let's keep the site community run, and use any money we have on necessities.
As for a mascot, I think we should pick one of those tripped out deep-sea fish cuz, like them, we are bringing light to dark places.
