Actually, I think you'll find that the general custom is in favor of ignoring the posting styles of contributor in favor of paying attention to what they are trying to say :).
Something which can be hard to do when placing the context of their literal words is made difficult by difficult-to-read posting styles.
Like pure bottom posting? All I'm trying to say is: I am extremely tired of seeing people spending time on this issue that, in the end, means little. If you cannot figure out what someone is replying to, ask them to restate their statement, rather than ragging on them for not using whatever your preferred style of posting.
Please try not to make any more out of this than is warranted. Bringing the matter up once is not "ragging', and judging from the person criticized's response he is new to the mailing list, and genuinely did not see the problem.
