This brings up an interesting point. Is there any analysis of the history of the splitting of Wikis, by whom, when, for what reason, and the longer term result?
Might make an interesting bit of research to chart these all.

Hudong may not be a split but it is apparently bigger than the English wikipedia depending on what they are counting as an article.
