Nature has apparently published an article about Ganfyd which is an online textbook of medicine only edited by doctors. I was alerted by a blog post by the medical library of the University of Utah. It is also interesting that wikipedias is used as a plural which may be an indication that wikipedia is becoming a word for an online editable encyclopedia.
The post reads:
Read the following article about wikipedias, especially about a new medical wikipedia, Gandfyd http://www.ganfyd.org/. Only registered medical practitioners are allowed to edit Ganddyd. In it's "about us" section, it states "Simply put this is an evolving textbook of medicine." http://www.nature.com/nm/journal/v13/n3/pdf/nm0307-231.pdf "WikiMedia" *NATURE MEDICINE *VOLUME 13 | NUMBER 3 | MARCH 2007 "Ganfyd, short for 'get a note from your doctor,' accepts contributions only from people with medical credentials.
