Working against original research is hard in a generalist article. It's really easy to write one from a personal perspective, but a lot harder to pin everything down.
To clarify: I'm using 'original research' in Wikipedia's sense here, not the actual logical one. The conclusions drawn in a general article are unlikely to be original. They are, however, likely to be based on the beliefs of the author and informed by the general consensus in the field, which can be awfully hard to pin down in good references.
