Well, in our defence, hardly anyone used IPA before and now its everywhere -- thanks to us and people like Nohat, who IIRC got that started here.
We are influential, and hopefully in a good way. I know that's a scary concept for some people, but that's just the way it is. Free, open, and global = means business.
