I think this was a very misleading description. As I look at the edit in question, it looks to me as though the statement was meant to be "I am not going to start an edit war, Slrubenstein." I base this on the fact that there is substantial amount of text after the "sig" and that the rest of the text is unsigned, as are most of Bungle's posts.
So I don't think this is bannable, simply because I don't think the comment was in your name at all.

I think it's a bannable offense, without question. Whether it would be sensible to pursue, given how long it takes to get through the process, is a different question. It will depend on the behavior of the individual user.
This is the sort of thing where I think a faster process than ArbCom would be quite helpful.
