Andre-
Delirium-
What's wrong with just leaving it on the page for 5 days and letting it get removed if it's the case that there's little to no support for deletion?
You've got it backwards. For a page to be deleted, there need to be little or no objections against that.
I don't see what your statement and Delirium's have to do with each other.
Delirium said nothing about removing it from the page if there's lots of support for deletion, so his question seems to imply that pages with majority support, or some definition of "a lot of support", can be deleted. Even if that's not what he meant, because his question could be read that way, I found it important to challenge this notion, as it is a common mistake (largely because of the somewhat misleading page title "*Votes* for deletion").
Even if 9 people vote for deletion and only 1 person strongly objects, that page should not be deleted as per the current "rough consensus" policy. We do not always follow this policy in cases where the person objecting is a new user and seems to have some special interest in the page, or even is the primary author of the page. Nevertheless, it is important to remember that rough consensus is currently needed for deletion. It doesn't matter if there's "a lot" of support for deletion as opposed to "little or no support".
