Unless he gets mentioned elsewhere that's theoretically not enough.
But I googled him, and I found articles mentioning him by other columnists.
I know the particular newspaper is thought of badly in many circles, but that doesn't mean that it and its staff aren't notable.
I think that they're only notable if they're noted, for good or bad.
