*Please* do not use straw man arguments, or at least, please disguise them better -- The statement that Johnleemk is referring to is:
"I am warning you all that this is a moderated mailing list."
Which is manifestly not 'demanding civility', and is also manifestly not:
"If you don't understand the importance of getting details right, should you be editing Wikipedia?"
Also, it never does good to 'demand' civility -- practice it, and hope people follow your example.
