static html dump script for wikipedia

Hi, I wrote PHP script to dump Wikipedia: http://mvp.jesusterror.com/wiki.html It will create static html from defined number of Wikipedia pages. SlimVirgin cites the case of A.J. Ayer, one of the originators of logical positivism, which he later called "nonsense." An editor now wants to insert a verifiable citation from Prof. Ellen Schrecker in nearly 300 articles which Prof. Schrecker herself has refuted. Shouldn't the policy say something about intellectual dishonesty? nobs

I am on a costly slow and brief modem, mostly batched by wwwoffle. So it is hard for me to submit bugs and comments interactively. Indeed there should be a page saying how 3rd world users could interact best with your site, e.g., It would be nice if there was a email way to add comments to discussion Talk: pages. Also I would like to note that when one sees "Your account has been created. Don't forget to change your Wikipedia preferences.", the "Wikipedia preferences" should be a link!

The Wikipedia Ombudsman

Hi to all! I'd just like to let you know that I have proposed the structure of a Wikipedia Ombudsman, that would deal with any complaints leading from admin action and ArbCom cases. I think in recent times there has been a significant growth in the number of users who have either left the project or felt very badly treated due to administrator actions and ArbCom rulings. I'm not trying to blame either the administrator function - I'm an admin myself - or the ArbCom; however, I think an Ombudsman is necessary to deal in an effective and fair way with all of the complaints. To compound this, I think the transparency and accountability of some admin and ArbCom actions is quite unacceptable, IMO. The Ombudsman structure would seek to redress this in a neutral and fair way, to ensure more decentralisation and stability for the community (remember: alienation breeds conflict). Summarising policies and guidelines

Hello all, I have an informal project to produce a summary of every policy and guideline "in a nutshell" at [[Wikipedia:List of policies and guidelines]]. I envisage that it would probably be useful to put that nutshell summary on the policy pages in question, but that can wait until such summaries are agreed upon. The goal is basically to have a page that can explain *every policy and guideline* to a user in a minute or two. Currently we have no real limits on how many policies and guidelines there are, and nothing stopping contradictory P/Gs being created. Consequently, people can pick and choose which P/Gs they follow, and we end up having silly pages like [[WP:ENC]] being created (I notice someone put the {policy} template back on it, despite no consensus or active discussion...). Some sort of formal recognition that "yes, we have a community abide by the following 37 rules that we have created" would be good. If anti-anarchistic ;) Anyway, if anyone feels like summarising a policy or guideline in one line or so, or contributing any ideas on layout or project goals or whatever, please do.
