We have released last week a new version of Kiwix for Android.
Here the list of improvements: * FIX: Display of storage devices * FIX: External SD cards detection * FIX: ZIM files detection speed * FIX: Core errors handling * FIX: Save images * FIX: ZIM file deletion * FIX: Transparent action menu * FIX: ZIM opening from external file browsers * NEW: Pause/Resume TTS
The app is available on Google play at http://android.kiwix.org and the Kiwix, Wikipedia offline - Android Apps on Google Playhttp://android.kiwix.org/ android.kiwix.org Wikipedia (and a lot more) at hand everywhere. No internet required!

No and Yes....
No, because custom apps software did not have been updated systematically. Custom apps release mgmt does not follow the Kiwix for Android release mgmt. In fact they do not have a proper release mgmt, something we will fix this year.
Yes, custom apps upgrades benefit most of the time of the latest improvements - often even before official Kiwix for Android release. This is for example the case of Wikimed in Portuguese which has been updated a week ago.
That said all Kiwix for Android 2.1 code base allows to build all custom apps.
