Hello offliners!
Are there people who will be at Wikimania who would be interested in meeting up to discuss Offline strategy? It appears there are perhaps just three of us on the offline project pages[1]. If there is a bigger group, it would be great to set aside some time during the Hackathon to talk more specifically about what progress we would like to see in Offline WIkipedia going into the future.
Otherwise, it appears Manuel's submission got selected, and we have some time during Wikimania itself[2]! Since this session is only an hour, though, it seems like all the time will be spent reporting what the different activities going on around the world are - which is much needed, but a slightly different purpose.
What do people think? Will anyone be around? Jessie

Yes, very much so! Either an open house or a workshop for people who want to get involved somehow - as curators or distributors - would also be handy. Many chapters who have reps at wikimania seem to be considering some kind of offline work at a strategy level.

thanks for advertisement :-)
Yes, the session is on Saturday, July 14th at 12:10 - 13:30 in Room 307.
Basically the aim of the session was what Jessie has in mind but I absolutely agree that the Offline Workshop will just be kind of an introductory program and that we should have a deeper session as well, maybe after the workshop to allow newbies who got interested and really want to engage in the topic to participate.
So the workshop is for talking nicely and compatible to newbies while Jessie's offline session will be the techtalk, crossing the t's and dotting the i's...

I like this idea in theory, but since this other session isn't until
Saturday, it might be difficult to coordinate space and time given the ending of the conference on Saturday. What do others think?

Yes absolutely; especially as it looks like Jessie won't be around for the Offline Workshop on Friday anymore[1]. I'd propose to meet during the Hackathon on Wednesday noon.
