Hello, it seem's that the expiring on toolserver is not working correctly.
To test it I made yesterday some edits: http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/changeset/7432081
osm.org shows the new buildings after few minutes but the status of this tile is still clean: http://a.www.toolserver.org/tiles/osm/17/70229/43967.png/status
I also made this test a week before in an other area with the same result.
Could somebody please check this? It would be fine if expiring would run on zoomlevels 13-18.
Thanks.

Hi
It seems our render_expired binary was broken. I compiled a new one from svn head it it seems to work better (at least the output is not so curious).
I was able to get it to work in touch-mode:
osm@ptolemy:~$ head -1 osm-load-next.17813.expire | $HOME/bin/render_expired --map=default --min-zoom=11 --touch-from=11 --tile-dir=/osm/tiles --socket=/home/project/o/s/m/osm/tirex/var/run/tirex.sock
but not in renderd-mode:
osm@ptolemy:~$ head -1 osm-load-next.17813.expire | $HOME/bin/render_expired --map=default --min-zoom=11 --tile-dir=/osm/tiles --socket=/home/project/o/s/m/osm/tirex/var/run/tirex.sock
it failes with a wired error message: Failed to parse tile path: /osm/tiles/default/16/0/38/165/87/0.meta
If some one want's to play with it (I guess it's just a small C-glitch) you can become osm and go to $HOME/src/renderd_svn_head. I already fixed the makefile to build under solaris:
make render_expired
and use the binary in this folder instead of $HOME/bin/render_expired. A example expire-file is $HOME/osm-load-next.17813.expire, it has been taken out of the regular expiry cycle.

I can confirm this (tested with the parking map).

Hello, expiring is still not running. (bug report: [1]) I hope river can do something for it.
Next week is FOSSGIS-conference[2] in germany. Peter and I will try to be there. Somebody else? It would be a good place for a little meeting.
