Hi
As I announced the hourly and minute diffs on planet.openstreetmap.org has been dropped in favor of the replication diffs. It seems, noone changed ptolemy to the replication scheme, so it's far out of up2date.
select max(id) from planet_osm_nodes ;
on ptolemy results in 580146831, while cassini, which uses the minute-replicate diffs says 622311437.
It seems, ptolemy stopped replication around 04/12/2009, 00:00, which is the creation time of 580146831 + 1 (see [1]).
As I said before I'd love to set everything up on ptolemy just as I did on cassini. I'd also volunteer to set up the rendering on ortelius.
I'll talk about the Wikimedia Toolserver and OSM on the FOSSGIS 2010 but I'm really unsure what I should tell the audience. The Software and Data seems not to be maintained (I'm talking about the OSM Software Stack, not the Server as such -- they are of course well maintained) and volunteers, that already proved to be able to fill this gap, don't receive any response. This is so sad.

Hello, I'm also sad about the situation. What's going on on ptolemy? I didn't get an answer for my bug-report there [1] since 9th December (I post it also two times to this list and IRC). Can we change our organisation so that the people which wants to do something, can do it? (Or was it only a joke that we move to ptolemy?)
I think we have some nice projects starting, here some examples that I know: *OSM-Geohack seems useful to come with 2 clicks from Wikipedia to each OSM-map. *Last week we clean up the german Geohack, so that you have directly a OSM-map on this page (thanks to dispenser). This page would be also a nice test bench for our servers if they would running. *The multilingual maps from avar are also an interesting aspect of OSM. *We render some nice hillshading tiles for hike-and-bike-map.[5] *I work today a little bit on my query-to-map script so that you get links to wikipedia and to websites if this links are in OSM. [4]
So everything nice and fascinating for me but I think we are too slow and confuse, especially with our main objective to bring OSM-maps into Wikipedia.
What we should do now in each case is to start a wiki-page to collect this nice projects. (Like [6]) I'm not sure if we should use the metawiki or the toolserver-wiki. I prefer the toolserverwiki and hope I find the time to start this weekend: https://wiki.toolserver.org/view/OpenStreetMap/Projects The OpenStreetMap page on meta wiki needs also a clean-up.

I know we were going to switch Ptolemy, putting on the toolserver, for people to make tools)and put Cassini for production use. To complete the switch, tools need to run completely without Cassini. Are any tools not yet moved?
I'm not sure who would complete the process of the switch, and what it entails (reinstalling things)?
I'm burned out on Wikimedia stuff, and mostly/only doing OSM stuff now and work relating to Haiti. But, if the server switch is completed, I would be willing to help get things setup or would be happy to have Peter or someone else to do it.
As for the issue Tim mentioned, there is an open bug about it on the PostGIS trac. http://trac.osgeo.org/postgis/ticket/318

My tools and dev-env has already been moved to the normal toolservers, accessing the sql-mapnik alias [1]. The problem is, that the data on this server is outdated, so..
