Ha! Thanks for the kind words, Susanna.
I'll do what I can & am looking forward to engaging with this group much much more moving forward.
On that note, we have a hangout https://www.facebook.com/events/1869277099750505/?acontext=%7B%22action_history%22%3A%22null%22%7D this Thursday - anyone have anyone / anything they'd like to see on the agenda?

Just to say an enormous thank you to Jeff, who has resurrected the Wikimaps activities. Wish him welcome!
Jeff has been the driving force behind Global World History ATlas http://www.gwhat.org/ and is one of the initiators (correct me if I am wrong) of the OpenHistoricalMap project https://wiki. openstreetmap.org/wiki/Open_Historical_Map, which the late Wikimaps project also tried to push forward.
Jeff can now work with mapping in the Wikimedia community and I am happy to welcome him to coordinate the activities of the Wikimaps User group. This newsletter is the start of communicating within the community.
Happy to have you here, Jeff!
Cheers Susanna

I’m still working on how to best host / share them with the world, with a baseline assumption that the Commons is the best place to start. If anyone is interested, please let me know!Last, all suggestions for future newsletters are welcome, for format, content, etc. We're just getting this started, so I'm trying to use a fairly agile approach.
