Hi Ant,
I assume you mean the message I have copied below.

Erik raises a good question :
Is this a requirement under Polish law, or what is the reason that this specific position title is needed? In German we would have someone called the "ViSdP" ("Verantwortlich im Sinne des Presserechts", "Responsible person according to press law"). This is more about responsibility for content than an editor role. I would not be surprised if Polish press law has a similar requirement. Are you sure "editor in chief" is the correct translation?

The Polish press law doesn't define "press passes". For us to have a press pass which would be legitimate everywhere, we'd need:
* ISSN (a special ID number given to us by the Polish court, we can apply for that as an association) * Phone number, email and address to the redaction (to our association) * Contact with an editor-in-chief
Now, as to the last thing - it's not that we need to call somebody an editor-in-chief EVERYWHERE - we may just call him like that on the press passes, nowhere else. You could say this is a formal requirement, but if we'd just write "Guy reponsible for my presence here" on the press pass, most of the institutions would ignore that.
Sadly, Poland is pretty bureaucratic when it comes to such things, so even a formal name is important.
I think that's all from me for now... We're having a meeting on IRC in a few minutes, also regarding the press passes. Maybe I'll know something else after that.
