Hello,
I'm not sure that you were informed about this script that could interest
other organizations and events creator.
Last year, 0x010C coded a calendar in lua [1][2] for Wikimédia France.
Features: ical, filter by tag and location, 3 display mode (but map doesn't
seem to work), interface in different languages.

WikiConference North America needs your help! We want your input on the
needs and wants for our conference. This is your chance to let us know the
problems, goals, and types of programming you think our North American
Wikimedia community needs to focus on.

The survey shouldn't take more than 5-10 minutes, and is a prerequisite for
us to get grant funding from the Wikimedia Foundation - so your input is
greatly appreciated!
If you haven't heard yet, we're thrilled to announce that WikiConference
North America 2018 will be happening in Columbus, Ohio from October 18 -
21. Stay tuned to our website for details, and follow us on social media to
be kept up to date.

Subject: [Wikimedia NYC] January 14th: Wikipedia Day 2018
To: wikimedia_nyc(a)lists.wikimedia.org
Dear Wiki-Yorkers,
You are invited to attend Wikipedia Day 2018 on Sunday, January 14th at the
Ace Hotel in midtown Manhattan!
Part of Wikipedia's global 17th birthday celebration, Wikipedia Day will
include a mini-conference of scheduled panels as well as unconference style
talks and discussions proposed by attendees on the day of the event. And it
wouldn't be a birthday without cake, so we'll have plenty of that too.
This event is free of cost and open to all. We encourage you to invite
anyone who might be interested in discussing Wikipedia and Wikimedia
projects, but all attendees must agree to follow our friendly space
policies: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Friendly_space_policies
To register, please sign-up at http://www.acehotel.com/calend
ar/newyork/wikipedia-day-2018. See this year's schedule and sign your wiki
account name on the wiki event page at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/
Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Wikipedia_Day_2018.
We especially encourage folks to add your 5-minute lightning talks to our
roster, and otherwise join in the open space experience. We look forward to
seeing you soon!
Megs

Hello Wikimedians :-)
The Wikimedia Foundation Support and Safety team, along with the
Anti-Harassment Tools Team, is conducting a survey on the use of the
English Wikipedia Administrator Noticeboard/Incidents to handle conflicts
and harassment.
It’s the first survey of it’s kind and is important information for
deciding on improvements. We are trying to get as many diverse opinions and
voices as possible. In addition to the people that use it often, we need to
hear from people who post on it rarely but read the board frequently.
I want to make sure that you folks who edit English Wikipedia know about
the survey. And I encourage you to participate if you have some experience
with noticeboard..
Here is the link to sign up and for more information.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Community_health_
initiative_on_English_Wikipedia/Research_on_dispute_
resolution_and_harassment/ANI_Survey_signup
It is also possible to request a copy of survey by email without signing up
on wiki.
I'm happy to answer any questions.
Warm regards,
Sydney Poore

Hi all,
I'm pleased to share Wikipedia Connection's annual report for the 2016-2017
school year.
<
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wikipedia_Connection/Annual_Reports…
>
Wikipedia Connection (<
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wikipedia_Connection>) is a student
organization at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, USA. The
group, run entirely by students with faculty support, hosts edit-a-thons,
workshops, presentations, photo hunts, and more on campus. The 2016-2017
report summarizes all the year's events, which brought in > 130 campus
participants through the year.
In addition to Wikipedia Connection, there have been Wikipedia student
organizations at Michigan University, Cambridge, National Taiwan
University, Pune, and a few more places. Wikipedia student organizations
are relatively lowkey on the global scale. Hopefully this report showcases
some of the things that can be done with universities - I think there's a
lot of potential for Wikipedia student groups around the world, and
documenting the process of setting up and running Wikipedia student
organizations is a project I'm planning for the near future.
Thanks,
Kevin Payravi
