I am pleased to announce that Wikimedia DC is working with the Sunlight Foundation on hosting the first Open Government WikiHack, which will take place at the Sunlight Foundation offices in Washington, DC on April 5–6. The Open Government WikiHack is be a two-day hack-a-thon/edit-a-thon with the goal of using open government data, including the Sunlight Foundation APIs, to improve the Wikimedia projects. We encourage all people to participate—coders and non-coders, those with Wikipedia experience and those without.

Hello everyone,
Wikimedia DC will be holding its second annual Wiki Loves Capitol Hill training on Saturday, April 12. Wiki Loves Capitol Hill focuses on training volunteers on discussing legislative matters related to Wikimedia with Congressional staff, and like last year, there is no shortage of things to talk about!

Note that Wikimedia DC is not allowed to advocate for the election or defeat of candidates, and our ability to spend money on this is highly restricted.
