John, Most of what you see in the link below reflects the current state of Wiki (and other) open source textbook development. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_content It's hard to know exactly how many people are engaged in open source textbook development, but it's growing all the time as the open source textbook movements gathers steam as a practical way for states to save money, while increasing quality of textbooks for universities and K-12. To the best of my knowledge, no K-12 public school district that has yet adopted a Wiki textbook. This is primarily because the open source K-12 textbook effort is so new, as well as the fact that purchasing behaviors in public school systems are strongly habituated to working with commercial publishers. This has begun to change, but slowly.
