Hi folks,
Almost two years ago I've written about 20 pages on Jim Morrison's
life and work.
Is anybody (I'm too busy with university and keeping de:wikipedia clean)
interested in making a textbook out of it?
Sure, it might not be that interesting like good old Shakespeare or
[[Runescape]] but it's just an offer from me to you.
If someone does that job I promise to do the German translation (a thing
I'm planning all the time...)

ciao, tom

That site works pretty well, does a respectable job at
maintaining formatting even if it doenst do colors or table
frames or some special characters. It did do intra-file
links from the table of contents though. Looks like its
released under some sort of free licence.
Thanks Theresa !

Most of you have probably seen Maffus comment in the staff lounge, but just
in case you haven't-:
PDF or other e-Book method?
Being new to Wikipedia, perhaps this is an old question. Are there any means
to obtain a PDF file or other electronic book (other than HTML)? When I
select "Printable Version" it would be very nice if I could find a PDF link
(or something similar). Maffu 00:36, 11 Nov 2003 (UTC)
I've done a search for html to pdf converters on the web and found this
site. http://www.easysw.com/htmldoc/pdf-o-matic.php which provides a program
that converts html pages to pdf. It's not for me, I'm still on Windows. But
are there any Unix users who want to download it.

When I do a search on Google for "textbook standards" this
is the very first link that comes up:
www.wikibook.org/wiki/Wikibooks:_Textbook_Standards
The only problem is that the page is blank. I thought I had
created a page like that a long time ago .. is there any
chance that it got deleted along the way ? Just weird that
it is first on google and does not even exist.
Anyway recent emails with Sanford are reminding me of the
importance of writing books, that adhere to CA standards so
he can use it to promote the open content model over there
and get some props for our site. We just need one good
example to start.
The CA standards link: http://www.cde.ca.gov/standards/
Sanford has also spent extensive time investigating grant
opportunities for the site but has not turned up any donors
yet as the site is so different than the way we have been
traditionally viewed education and educational materials.
When we have a poster-child book that adheres to the
standards it may be able to get us some funding.

I can't seem to delete the image Image:Paris.PNG (which I have replaced with
a jpg version) when I click on the (del) link on the description page I get
this:
"Bad title
>From Wikibooks, the free textbook project.
The requested page title was invalid, empty, or an incorrectly linked
inter-language or inter-wiki title.
Return to Main Page."
Any ideas as to what's wrong ?
Theresa
