No I think I'm out of ideas. You could try copying the html code from the .htm file into the edit box. Wikipedia does support some html. However it does not support scripting ( Javascript, VBS) so I doubt it'll work.
You could also try contacting a developer to see if they can help you do what you want. Try User http://wikibooks.org/wiki/User_talk:Brion_VIBBER to see if he can help you.

You can upload excel spreadsheets, but you can't display them on the page AFAIK. You have to use [[media:spreadsheet.xls]] instead of [[image:spreadsheet.xls]] on the page though. This will provide a link for the file to be downloaded. See my sandbox for an example

Funny I can see it in every version that you edited. Perhaps the problem lies with your computer. Try hitting the refresh button to stop a cached version of the page loading.

Hi, there is a problem making a link in the wikibooks mainpage. Who can
help?
The problem is:
I wrote the title "photoschule Großformat" as a link on the wikibooks
mainpage - but it is not to see on the screen.
Than I go to edit this page, I see it.
Sometimes there was in the mainpage written the correct titel AND an
incorrect one - but I deleted the uncorrect titel before.
To this time I can´t see the link (but it is written in the edit-stile...)
best wishes
lars

My Google News alert for the word "wikibooks" just turned
up its very first result:
http://news.independent.co.uk/digital/features/story.jsp?story=504287
It is an article about Wikipedia approaching its release of
version 1.0 and how it has decimated the encyclopedia
racket held by Britannica, and mentions how Wikipedia
founder Jimmy Wales hopes to make a similar impact with
Wikibooks.

I don't think one exists. Doing a web search for "pdf to wiki" reveals a loot of other people want one too. There are quite a lot of pdf to html converters, he could try one of those and upload the pages in html. Then we could all pitch in and convert to wiki manually.

Anyone know tools to convert ms.doc or adobe.pdf format
files to Wiki format? Like a script or website .. There is
a gentleman who would like to contribute his
German-language textbook to the project and has everything
ready in these two formats. It is 150 pages w- 100 images,
not a quick porting document.
Also, Sanford is asking about printing capabilities. Any
word there ? Such as from the Rice project?
Good will to all,
Karl

Yes but it's very early days yet. Look at the reference desk on wikipedia. That's used regularly now.

Hello! It's my first posting here :)
I think the "study help desk" should be removed from the left sidebar;
it is almost never used.
