Thanks all - for your time and discussion at
today's meeting (especially
Sean for bringing us all back together).
I'm sure Cary or Sean can point us to the transcript from today's
meeting if you're looking for a recap.
In short, I think that by setting some specific, concrete goals for our
work we can ensure that the projects I bring to the table, or you
propose, are all part of the larger picture.
The first (and actually quite broad) goal I propose is 'promotion'
By promotion, that means I'd like work I float, or that we discuss, on
this list to specifically be aimed towards promoting WMF's projects:
* Spreading the word on our internal communications tools (pumps,
signpost, project info pages etc)
* bringing news and information to the wider public community by
discussing our projects in other non-WMF related sites/media.
The second goal is more complex and ambitious, so give me a bit more
time over the next couple of weeks to describe what I mean and how I
think we can do this.
But to start, we need to put life into our new Foundation blog (it also
needs a name - any suggestions?)
Those who expressed an interest in lending technical, writing, or
design/creative support - please drop me and cary(a)wikimedia.org a note
directly.
This is a project I have to get up and running very soon, and to do so I
will probably involve those specifically interested in a separate thread.
That's about all for now - I'm pressed for time today, but will have
more to say soon.
Thanks!
