Where are we? :-)

All, >From what I can see, the meeting basically didn't happen last night. This is a shame; I'm again sorry for not being there. While it is true I am busy with IRC stuff I am on holiday now, so once I have fully cleared my messages backlog (which is taking a long time, unfortunately) I will be once again nice and active. However, perhaps it would be a good idea to have an open discussion here about where we currently are with ComProj in preparation for the next meeting. This is because not everyone can come to meetings and this topic is important enough, I think, that we get all of us involved. So, where are we at the moment with ComProj? Can we put together a list of our current projects and see that they are being dealt with, and are there other things we can work on? Is our way of working efficient enough? I may be wrong but judging by this mailing list ComProj has all but ground to a halt. As for me, I'm slowly fighting back my backlog of stuff to read and do before getting back in to Wikimedia proper after exams, which are now over. Do we want a meeting tonight? New Addition/Press List

Hello, everyone! I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Mike Halterman. I am an administrator on the English Wikipedia (User:Mike Halterman), and I've been editing since June 2004. Starting this month, I've started at the Wikimedia Foundation in St. Petersburg, working directly under Sandy Ordonez as the new Wikimedia Communcations Intern. I started and finished the Florida press list yesterday; you can find that under Google documents under "presslist" and going to the "Florida" tab. I added the major newspapers in Florida as well as every television station that had a news department. You will notice that some stations and papers are not in Alabama (the Mobile and Dothan markets), but since they cover portions of the state, that they were pertinent to contact as well. LSS Revival

Hey folks, I'm trying to relaunch the List Summary Service. In order to make good and complete summary I'll need help. For the moment, I'll mainly focus on recruiting, and build up a "LSS" team. Once the elections are over, I'll ask the TransCom to help to translating the summary every week, and then spread it to the Wikimedia Community throught mailing list. Hello, comproj folks, I'd ask you for help to publicize the coming endorsement acceptance (of Board Election, of course). This message, taken from [[m:Communication Projects Group/Board Election/Call for translators]], was posted already to the project following: - zhwiki - svwiki - Commons I expect top 13 Wikipedias and all English projects are already informed about Election in a way. On the other hand, I am not sure all of them are aware of the forthcoming endorsement phase. At any rate, even if all of them know about it, as you may know, they are only a top of an iceberg among over 600 Wikimedia project (about 87% registered accounts of all Wikipedias are found on those top 13 - and the left 13% is roughly estimated as one million). Hi guys and gals; I'm looking for help in getting the word out that we need a specific group or task force of users with legal knowledge, particularly in some governing bodies (Japan being a major one). This is something rather strongly needed. Ideas as to the best way to implement this? Cary
