Stan you took the words right out of my mouth. A
typical symptom of that
paranoia is that you start knowing things better than your lawyer. Even if
the
lawyer was involved with the local adaption of the Creative Commons
license.
This was the case when we wanted to do something about Ramas picture used
in a
newspaper. But let's stop talking about this.
The point is that I do *not* have a lawyer, precisely. :)
But I fail to see where I would know things better than a lawyer. I will
cheerfully admit that a lawyer knows better than me how legal matters work.
And you surely will return the favour admitting that I know better than you
what I want to do with my time.
You are welcome to engage in legal crusades yourself if you have time to
lose; you are also to offer to recruit me if you see it fit. But you are not
entitled to draft me into one.
Another symptom of the paranoia is that the patients
start looking around
for
other reasons why an image could be unfree if they can't find a copyright
paragraph. What about personality rights? And moral rights? Religious
feelings?
The paranoia patients will find a reason for every image why it's forbidden
in
one of our globes countries.
Please stay focused. With the 100-year timespan, there is not reason to look
outside the bounds of the very copyright, really.
