Hello Pine,
Thank You for expressing interest! As Asaf stated it floats in the feed and
is easily accessible as compared to YouTube. In addition to that, Facebook
is the most popular social media platform in India. So, if we want to share
something and get it viral, Facebook is the right online space.
Thanks & Regards,

Subject: [Translators-l] MassMessage translation: Commons and GFDL
To: Wikimedia Translators <translators-l(a)lists.wikimedia.org>
If the wikis in your language allow local uploads, they probably want
to know that Commons has decided not to allow single-license GFDL
licensing for most files:

I will send this out in a couple of days.

Hi all,
We've just released version 2.8.3 of the Commons Android app to all users.
:) The new version is available for download on the Google Play Store[1] as
well as F-Droid[2].
The update includes fixes for most of the high-priority bugs in the app,
including failed uploads and overwrites. Additionally, we have several new
features, notably:
- When you upload an image to an item on the map of "Nearby places that
need pictures", the image will be automatically added to that Wikidata item
- Browse other images on Commons via the new "Explore" feature
- View your achievements and upload statistics (by tapping on the trophy
icon next to your username)
We are aware that there are a few recent issues that need resolving, namely
crashes for users on Android 8.1 and above, and issues with date templates.
Those will be fixed ASAP in v2.9.
Thank you all for your patience as we work on these! More details and
screenshots can be found in my blog post[3]. Feedback, bug reports, and
suggestions are always welcome on our GitHub page[4].
Best regards,
Josephine / misaochan (project maintainer)

Hello,
Mockups for new Commons file pages featuring structured copyright and
licensing statements have been posted for community review. [1] These
potential additions to the file page will affect Commons only, file pages
on other wikis will remain as they are. Please have a look; questions,
comments, concerns can be left on the talk page. [2]
Thank you, see you on the wiki.
