The nearest book to hand (Charles Hadfield's "The Canals of the East
Midlands") doesn't provide photographer name in the image captions.
Neither does the second nearest (Jack Livesey's "Armoured Fighting
Vehicles of World Wars I and II")
I think the under-photograph cites are more of a newspaper/pamphlet
convention, books typically having a dedicated section for any necessary
photo credits.
