Hey guys,
I was just struck by an idea here, and thought it would be just the
kind of thing the people involved in the wikicommons could make a
reality.
I am frequently involved in working on various web projects,
specifically human and civil rights sites, and am always struck by
how hard it can be to find like-minded people who can hep you with
specific tasks.
So, how about a site that allows members to sign up and create a
profile containing their interests and their skills in relation to
web design or expertise etc., and then post project proposals to the
community. Then, members whose profiles suggest they may be
interested whose skills are required would receive a little
notification in their members area so that if they wish, they can
join the project and get involved. Each project could be assigned a
page by the site with a simple chat room and bulletin board so that
the members can communicate and there could be a "rate this member"
system to reward those who contribute the most.
It seems like a brilliant way to proliferate the philosophy of
cooperation and open source throughout the net, and be a launch pad
for thousands or new creative websites.
What do you think?
Regards,
-Kieran
